Ann Curry

Ann Curry, an American photographer and journalist who has covered wars and natural disasters for over 45 years, focuses on the suffering of people in these areas. Curry reported on wars from Kosovo, Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry is a journalist anchorperson on television and reporter she was born 1956. Curry was born in Japan and was raised by her Japanese mom. Her father served as a U.S. Navy sailor. After World War II, her parents began to meet while her father was serving in Japan. Because of her father's military service, the family moved quite a lot. They eventually arrived in Ashland Oregon where Curry attended the high school. After graduating from University of Oregon, Curry received a bachelor degree in journalism degree in the year 1978. She paved her way for an enviable career after she began her broadcasting career as an intern in KTVL Channel 10 in Medford Oregon, eventually becoming the first female news reporter at the station, at aged of just 22. In Portland, Oregon she was made an anchor as well as a reporter for KGW NBC's affiliate. After that, she moved into Los Angeles four years later as a journalist for KCBS TV. Through her KCBS-TV relationship of six years the station, she won the two Emmy Awards.
